Bill Volk is a retired partner of Vinson & Elkins, a law firm with offices throughout the world. Prior to his retirement, he led the firm’s technology industry group and was co-managing partner of the Austin office. He was a member of the firm-wide Management Committee for 12 years.
Bill has practiced law for more than 41 years. His primary area of practice has been securities and corporate finance, with a focus on venture capital and private equity, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance.
He is the immediate past Chair of the Board of Governors of the Austin Community Foundation and continues to work with the Foundation as a member of its Impact Investment Committee and as a board member of the Brightleaf Preserve and the Notley Fund. He has also served as a board member of United Way for Greater Austin (Chair, Community Impact), Austin Children’s Shelter and Literacy Austin (Chair).
